Iris awards made by The American Iris Society:
- HM: Honorable Mention. Awarded to the best newly named varieties judged each year.
- AM: Award of Merit. Awarded to the best HM winners after 2 years.
- Wister Medal: Top tall beardeds that have won an AM.
- Dykes Medal: Awarded by the British Iris Society each year to the AIS for the best iris from any category after is has won an AM. Only one Dykes medal winner each year and is mostly won by tall bearded iris.
